Adult Basic Education/GED Preparation

These classes address the educational needs of adults whose skills range from minimal literacy skills to high school equivalency level. Adults receive instruction in reading, math, language arts, life skills, technology, preparation for the GED test, and employability skills. Classes are free.

All ABE/GED students must complete a 12 hour orientation session. After the 12 hour session is completed, students are placed in the appropriate class based upon their test scores.

A technology fee of $10.00 (payable in cash only) is due from each student on the first day of orientation.

 

English as a Second Language

This class is designed for students seeking instruction in the English language.

A technology fee of $10.00 (payable in cash only) is due from each student on the first day of class.

ESL students may attend this class as long as they have a need for ESL instruction.

 

Literacy

This class is designed for students seeking instruction in literacy.

Students receive individual assistance with literacy tutors when available.

A technology fee of $10.00 (payable in cash only) is due from each student on the first day of orientation.

Registration

The registration office is open between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday-Thursday. To register for a class please call 317-392-4191 ext. 1115.

Age Restrictions
Any student who is 16 or 17 years of age must present on the first day of orientation an EXIT FORM from his/her high school. This form must be signed by the principal.

GED Test
Blue River Career Programs (BRCP) is an official GED testing site. Registration for the test is conducted in the lobby of BRCP during office hours.
