Blue River Career Programs Governing Board
Blue River Career Programs is an area vocational school cooperative serving the four school corporations in Shelby County. Blue River Career Programs is a separate Local Education Agency (LEA) with its own governing board. The Blue River Career Programs Governing Board is comprised of a board member from each school corporation who serve as the officers and the voting board members. The superintendents from each corporation also sit on the board and have authority to vote in the absence of the respective board member.
The function of the governing board is to determine the budget and programs to be offered by the career center. The board is also responsible for making all legal decisions effecting the corporation.
Governing board meetings are open to the public as well as the minutes of those meetings. The board meets in regular session once per month. The board may also conduct special and executive meetings as necessary for the good of the corporation. |
